As you can see, this model gets excellent buyer reviews. The only real complaint is that for a few buyers, the battery does not last long enough. This 1.5 AH battery is still a good enough battery, but a couple of buyers, will purchase the bigger options, which we have explained below.

Ryobi Cordless Batteries Explained

Currently Ryobi make 6 different sizes of batteries. Batteries are measured in Amp Hours (AH). This rating used to tell consumers how much amperage a battery can provide for exactly one hour of time. A general rule of thumb is the higher this number is, the longer the battery will last.

According to the Ryobi website they tested their battery using by driving in a 4 x 32 mm screw, and drilling a 16 x 50 mm hole in wood. The performance is shown below for each size of battery until it ran out of charge:

Our Verdict on the Ryobil R18PD3-215GZ Cordless Combi Drill Starter Set

Ryobi drills are never going to be a cheap option. This model is however designed as a starter kit, as it allows you to buy a tool, a battery and a charger. That then opens up other "bare Tools" from the Ryobi range. As you already will own a battery and charger, this will make future purchases a lot cheaper as you don't have to buy the battery and charger again.

This drill can drill almost any material, and that makes it very useful for any job in the home or in the garden. With a buyer satisfaction rate of 96%, there is no doubting its quality, and buyers clearly like it a lot.

The buyer comments and reviews state that this drill is easy to use, lightweight, versatile and powerful. Those are exactly what you should expect to find on a high quality cordless drill.
