DeWalt DCK211D2T Cordless Drill Driver UK Review

In our opinion this combination from Dewalt, the DCK211D2T 10.8V Li-ion Cordless Compact Drill Driver and Impact Driver, is one of the best buys on the UK market. If you are someone who needs to use these types of power tools on a regular basis, and likes high quality, then this is a great choice.

As the name would suggest, you get two powerful compact tools, that will handle around 99% of the jobs you will ever need to do. I am not going to rattle on about the quality. With Dewalt, that is as close to a guarantee of quality, that you can get. So let's focus on the two tools.

  1. The DCD710 cordless drill
  2. The DCF815 Impact Driver

So you get both of the tools above in this combi kit. In addition to that you also get, 2 x 10.8 volt Li-Ion batteries, an XR fast charger, and the kit box. If you own those, then you will have years of drilling and driving jobs, that you will be able to tackle with ease. I think it is always great, when you have a job to do, and you have the right tools to get it done.

I noticed on Amazon UK that they said this kit also comes with a belt clip holder, and a bit holder. That is an error and they don't. In all honesty, I don't think that matters a great deal. For under £175, you are still getting a great deal. I just thought you should know though.

Dewalt - The Company and Brand

The Dewalt brand are the leading high end brand for tools in the world and really do make high quality products. This is the go to tool brand for professional trades people and has been for a very long time.

The company was formed in 1922 by Raymond E. Dewalt. The actual Dewal company started out in Leola, Pennsylvania. Their first product was an electric universal woodworking machine known as the DEWALT "Wonder-Worker".

Like many tool companies they grew a lot during the second World War and just after that period. They continued to expand in the 60's and 70's making bench grinders and metal cutting machines.

It was as far back as 1992 when they first started making portable electric tools aimed at the contracting and building markets. In 2011 they introduced the ground breaking XR system.

Dewalt have around 43 different types of cordless drills available on the UK market. This includes 12V, 18V and 20V options. The models include drill/drivers, impact drills, hammer drills and SDS drills.

Who Would Buy the DeWalt DCK211D2T Twin Pack?

If you have ever worked on a construction site it is pretty noticeable to see the distinct black and yellow colours of Dewalt. This is the model that the professionals would buy always. I can say with some certainty that anyone in the the building trade would buy this set.

That is because the batteries last for a good 2-3 hours of constant use. When you need to charge them that happens quickly as well. They also throw a lot of light on the area you are drilling into.

Landscapers will find this set invaluable. Anyone building decks, erecting fences, working on shed erection, roof working will find these a little God Send.

People like me who do a serious amount of DIY, will enjoy using this quality kit. These drills are perfect for DIY around the house and woodworking hobbies. They are also really useful for anyone doing any type of overhead work. That is because they are light and compact.

What Buyers Liked About This Kit

Battery - There is an assumption made, and often quite rightly, that a 10.8 Volt battery will not deliver enough power. With cheaper models I would support that argument for certain. Bot with these products though, all the buyers commented on their power.

People used this to help put up fences, where they were driving long screws into posts, and it did that with ease. On average people were getting 2-3 hours of use from a single charge. In addition, the batteries charged very quickly.

Light & Compact - These have been designed to be compact. That along with the lighter and smaller batteries makes these great for anyone doing overhead work. Electricians working on trunking spring to mind. Roofers will find these really useful as well.

Tough & Durable - If you are working on jobs, your tools are going to get some form of abuse. That is not intentional of course, just a simple fact of life. This set is built to last. With reasonable care they will last for years.
