Black and Decker 10.8V Lithium Ion Ultra Compact Drill Review

Please not that this Black and Decker 10.8V Lithium Ion Ultra Compact Drill is no longer available. Check out the other Black and Decker options just below.

This particular model is a small highly compact drill with a pretty high price tag of around £115. It is one of the highest specifications of all the Black & Decker cordless drill/drivers. This 10.8 Volt model model gets a super average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars, based on the current buyer reviews.

The reason this one is more expensive than most in the B&D range is because it uses a Lithium-Ion battery rather than the Ni-CD that is mainly used in the cheaper drill/drivers. They also supply two of these batteries and that explains the higher price point.

This Is a small, lightweight but very tough little drill that will be able to handle around 80% of jobs around the home. It is ideal for anyone who will need to do some basic jobs from time to time such as putting up curtain rails and shelves.

It would also be an excellent choice for anyone who does any type of overhead work, or is often working in confined or badly lit areas.

This drill/driver is sold on the fact that this is a lightweight and very compact drill that still retains a lot of power. The manufacturer states that it is ideal for jobs such as fitting kitchens, working under cupboards and fitting skirtings and architraves.

For outside us they also say this would work well for working on decking, fitting hanging baskets and even the hanging of gates.

Main Review of the 2 Gear Hammer Drill

This model has all of the features that I would want to see in a good quality drill/driver so there are no complaints there at all. This is a very good tool and it is pretty clear that buyers like this one a lot.

The keyless chuck makes it easy to change drill bits and driver bits. The battery is also easy to change. It includes a reverse feature which is helpful if you are trying to remove screws. It also comes with the case so as you can safely store this away.

This is also a safe drill to use and it also feels really nice to hold as well. By that I mean that it has a really nice balanced feeling when in use. I also like the fact that you have a good range of torque settings and also have the variable speed function.

There is almost no vibration when using this drill and the fact that you can quickly change bits with one hand truly does speed all of your jobs up quite a lot.
